Hyeri Is A Cunning Genius In New High School Mystery Thriller Drama
Upcoming drama “Friendly Rivalry” (literal translation) has unveiled its first stills of Hyeri!
Based on a popular webtoon, “Friendly Rivalry” is a mystery thriller set at Chaehwa Girls’ High School, an elite institution for the top 1 percent in South Korea, where cutthroat academic competition takes place between the students. Jung Soo Bin stars as Woo Seul Gi, a transfer student who becomes entangled in her classmates’ hidden ambitions—and the secret behind the mysterious death of her father, a former college entrance exam question setter.
Hyeri will star as Yoo Jae Yi, a genius student who has never lost her first-place ranking and holds significant influence at Chaehwa Girls’ High School. As the daughter of the owner of J Medical Center, Jae Yi is both wealthy and powerful, and with her stunning beauty, she commands attention everywhere she goes.
However, Jae Yi is the object of everyone’s envy, there is more to her than meets the eye: beneath her flawless exterior, Jae Yi is hiding complicated inner feelings and desires.
In newly released stills from the upcoming drama, Jae Yi skillfully delivers a speech at school, oozing confidence and charisma. Another photo captures Jae Yi in class, looking focused on her studies.
Not only is Jae Yi a perfectionist student who is ranked first in school, but she also has a strong presence that gives her power over her classmates. The cold, confident look in her eyes as she speaks in the classroom suggests that she is no ordinary student.
Praising Hyeri’s acting, the “Friendly Rivalry” production team remarked, “From the first shoot, Lee Hyeri flawlessly immersed herself in her character, and she vibrantly brought Yoo Jae Yi to life. Lee Hyeri’s transformation into Yoo Jae Yi, a character with overwhelming charisma, will be a career-changing turning point in her filmography.”

“Friendly Rivalry” will premiere on February 10.
