ITV Dancing on Ice final sparks backlash as fans ask 'what is going on?'
Dancing on Ice viewers were left baffled as the finalists to the ice to perform a showcase routine on Sunday.

Dancing on Ice fans expressed their confusion and frustration minutes into Sunday's (March 9) final, airing a familiar complaint.
As the 17th series of the popular skating competition drew to a close, with Springwatch's Michaela Strachan, ex-footballer Anton Ferdinand, and Coronation Street's Sam Aston vying for the top prize, viewers were left underwhelmed by the first performance.
Anton and his partner, Annette Dytrt, took to the ice with a showcase routine choreographed by head judges Jayne Torvill and Christopher Dean, set to Prince and The Revolution's 1984 hit "Let's Go Crazy."
However, adding eight pro skaters to the routine sparked criticism, with many taking to X (formerly Twitter) to voice their discontent.
Dancing on Ice fans weren't impressed with the showcase routinesOne fan asked: "What is going on? Why is it crowded?" while another commented: "Too much is going on in this performance. Why do we need some many pros dancing with him?"
A third viewer agreed, stating: "Thinking about it there's too much going on lol." (sic)
Others echoed this sentiment, with one saying: "Hate the backing dancers in the Showcase Skate - can't we just see the couple skate without any distractions," and another similarly sharing: "Had trouble finding Anton sometimes."
Meanwhile, other viewers shared how much they enjoyed the routine, with one saying: "That was fab. Anton is defo the most improved skater out of everyone."
Anton spoke about his time on the show, saying: "It has been [life-changing]. When you retire from football, I retired six years ago. I lost a part of me. Thank you to Dancing on Ice and all the team behind that made me start to feel like myself again," reports the Express.
The 17th series of Dancing on Ice comes to an end tonight (March 9)Despite some viewers' disapproval, Anton and Annette received a perfect score of 40 from the judges, who were astounded by the ex-footballer's improvement throughout the competition.
Ashley Banjo praised him, saying: "I'm so proud of you, man. What's always set you aside for me is your care, your commitment, and the heart that you put in, not only into the performance but into the process and into the week leading up to it."
Jayne also complimented him: "That was such a great performance, and I loved the energy... We were throwing lots of things at you, but you went away and worked hard as always. That was great."
Chris gave Anton a heartfelt hug after his performance, expressing: "His progress from masterclass to final has just been amazing, and this week working with Anton and getting to know him has been my pleasure."
