ITV Emmerdale fans left baffled after realising Ella is married to soap co-star
Emmerdale actress Paula Lane, who plays Ella Forster on the ITV soap, is married to another famous star who has appeared in both Coronation Street and Emmerdale.
Emmerdale fans were taken aback when they found out who actress Paula Lane's real-life husband is.
Paula, who plays Ella Forster in the ITV soap, first appeared on Emmerdale in 2024, with her character hiding a significant secret.

It was later unveiled that Ella had been jailed for murdering her best friend at just 11-years-old. Now going by Ruth, she has spent her life moving around the country, Leicester Mercury reports.
Ella made her way to the Dales in January and managed to settle in, striking up a friendship with Mandy Dingle (Lisa Riley) and starting a romance with GP Liam Cavanagh (Jonny McPherson), which has since ended.

Prior to joining Emmerdale, Paula was recognised for her role as Kylie Platt on Coronation Street from 2010 to 2016, where she portrayed Becky McDonald's (Katherine Kelly) half-sister and David Platt's (Jack P.Shepherd) wife.
Kylie's heartbreaking departure from the show took place in 2016.

However, it's Paula's personal life that has recently shocked viewers. The actress is wedded to fellow soap actor Tom Shaw, and they have two children together, Arthur and Penny.
Paula and Tom, both of whom have starred in Corrie and Emmerdale, are childhood sweethearts who started dating after meeting at Huddersfield Tech. They exchanged vows in May 2014 at Leeds Cathedral.
Arthur, the couple's first child, was born in December of the same year. Their second child, Penny Grace, followed in July 2016.

As an actor, Tom's notable soap roles include playing Kim Vaughan in Coronation Street in 2017 and 2018. Kim was a character connected to Fiz, played by Jennie McAlpine, through their shared past in a care home.
Additionally, Tom appeared in Emmerdale, the soap his wife stars in, as village police officer Craig Bishop, making intermittent appearances across eight episodes between 2014 and 2019.

Soap fans were left baffled after discovering Tom and Paula's marriage after a post on an Emmerdale Facebook fan page showed a snap of the couple together.
One shocked fan wrote: "He was in Emmerdale years ago and Coronation Street." Another exclaimed: "I thought I recognised him." A third added: "I remember him from Corrie."
