Ian Wright reveals FA Cup semi-final clash that he 'wouldn't like to see'
Crystal Palace cruised their way into the FA Cup semi-finals with a 3-0 win over Fulham at Craven Cottage on Saturday and club legend Ian Wright has already earmarked Brighton as an opponent he does not want his old side to face
Former Crystal Palace star Ian Wright has insisted he does not want to see his old side play Brighton in the FA Cup semi-finals. The Palace legend claimed it would be too painful to see the Eagles be knocked out by their rivals.
Palace booked their place at Wembley in style by comfortably seeing off Fulham 3-0 at Craven Cottage on Saturday thanks to goals from Eberechi Eze, Ismaila Sarr and Eddie Nketiah.

The Eagles now have a real opportunity to reach their first cup final since 2016 but will still be hopeful of avoiding some of the top sides left in the competition - such as Pep Guardiola's Manchester City.
But Wright - who started his career at Palace and made 277 appearances for them - said Brighton are the team he would most like his old side to avoid due to the rivalry between the two. The Seagulls face high-flying Nottingham Forest on Saturday evening.

"It's a derby if you're a Brighton or Palace fan because I remember those and they were pretty intense, but I wouldn't like to see that because that would be too nervy for me.
"I'd rather us get Forest and beat them in there. Because if Brighton beat Palace I'd be devastated. I think that's a tough one for Brighton, the form Forest are in."
Wright joined Palace as a 21-year-old and scored a total of 118 goals for the Eagles to help them win promotion to the First Division. He even scored twice against Manchester United in the 1990 FA Cup final to secure a 3-3 draw, before Palace lost the replay 1-0.
Wright also weighed in on an incident where Palace star Adam Wharton escaped a red card when he caught Rodrigo Muniz - despite already being on a yellow card at the time.
"It is risky," Wright admitted. "I think he is very fortunate that the laws are so complicated. [VAR] can’t look at that for some reason. You could probably get booked for that. He is very fortunate to get away with that because he has kicked out at him. It’s not violent conduct but he’s clipped him."
Fulham boss Silva said: "For me it is clear, it's a second yellow card but we are used to these kind of situations. I prefer to say we are unlucky but it has been a long story with us. Of course VAR cannot overturn this decision but you have many eyes inside the pitch, the linesman has all the angles to see it, the fourth official.

"It is a clear second yellow card, definitely. It would have a massive impact on the game but against us it is always more difficult to see. We have been unlucky in these type of situations and let's hope it will be balanced at the end of the season."
