Watch: Park Hyung Sik Faces Off With Heo Joon Ho Over 2 Trillion Won In Action-Packed Teaser For New Drama
SBS has unveiled the first sneak peek of its upcoming drama āTreasure Islandā (literal translation)!
āTreasure Islandā will tell the story of a man who manages to hack a political slush fund account worth 2 trillion won (approximately $1.4 billion) and the man who kills him without knowing heās been hackedāthus accidentally losing the entire 2 trillion won.
Park Hyung Sik will star as Seo Dong Joo, the leader of the Daesan Group chairpersonās Public Affairs team. Although he appears on the outside to be a loyal āDaesan manā through and through, Seo Dong Joo is secretly full of ambition and ready to seize an opportunity to swallow Daesan Group whole.
Heo Joon Ho will play the wealthy and immensely powerful professor Yum Jang Sun, who was formerly the head of the National Intelligence Service (NIS). Yum Jang Sun controls kingmakers from behind and secretly holds the strings to all of society, and he derives pleasure from being able to move people around at his will like puppets.
On December 21, SBS aired the very first teaser for the drama during the 2024 SBS Drama Awards.
The teaser begins with Seo Dong Joo looking at the Daesan logo inside the company building and warning in voice-over, āJust wait. Iāll repay you for all of this.ā Noting that Daesan chairman Cha Kang Chun doesnāt have a son, he then tells himself, āSeo Dong Joo, dream big.ā
Seo Dong Joo soon becomes a key figure in company politics, with some aiming to get rid of him while others offer him an alliance. Later, he finds himself fighting for his life after becoming a target of powerful forces.
As Seo Dong Joo goes on the run, Yum Jang Sun cryptically complains, āSeo Dong Joo placed all of my money in his head and ran away.ā When the two men face off in person, Yum Jang Sun angrily yells at Seo Dong Joo, ā2 trillion won of my money is inside your head!ā Seo Dong Joo is then seen aiming a gun at his own head as he warns in voice-over, āJust wait. Iām coming to kill you, you bastard.ā

During the 2024 SBS Drama Awards, SBS aired a sneak peek of the new romance drama, which will star Namgoong Min and Jeon Yeo Been.
Namgoong Min will play the role of Lee Je Ha, a film director struggling to break out of a sophomore slump. Although his career got off to a promising start, with his debut commercial film sweeping that yearās film festivals, Lee Je Ha lost his momentum in the years that followed, and he now finds himself facing an unclear future.
Jeon Yeo Been will play Lee Da Eum, an aspiring actress who suffers from a rare and incurable disease with an uncertain prognosis. As she faces the end of her life, she decides to finally try to live as a main character for the very first time.
The teaser begins with Lee Da Eum introducing herself to her new colleagues in voice-over as āthe terminally ill Lee Da Eum, who is a consultant [for this film].ā
Lee Je Ha then asks her, āI heard youāre dying? That you only have one year left to live?ā Amidst glimpses of her emotional journey, Lee Da Eum declares, āDeath keeps following me around, so Iām going to do my very best to shake it off. Even if itās only for a very brief moment.ā
