Britain's Got Talent's dance sensation George Sampson has been on an extraordinary path since becoming the BGT winner back in 2008. Remembered for his energetic dance performances, he sailed to victory during BGT's second season.
Even after being knocked back in the first series by judges Piers Morgan and Amanda Holden, George made a triumphant return the following year. His mesmerising performance to Singin' in the Rain won over the hearts of ITV audiences and secured his place as the BGT victor.
Post-victory life was a whirlwind for George, with TV appearances galore and lucrative promotional deals. He even dabbled in the world of music before amiably splitting with Simon Cowell in 2009. Following a stint away from the limelight, the dancer and actor popped back into public view with a role on Emmerdale in 2016, and teamed up with Roxanne Pallett on Celebrity Coach Trip in 2019, reports the Mirror.
With BGT making its comeback, it's time to spotlight where George's journey has taken him since stepping out of television's glitzy embrace.

Clearly moved by the experience, he took to Instagram and shared: "This past month has been an absolute roller coaster!" ahead of the final performance. Sharing a snap of himself in the Robin Hood costume, he said: "Playing Robin Hood on a national tour has been an unreal experience, thanks to everyone that came to watch the show! Here's me and my mate Sully having a much-needed cuddle between scenes."
He's also shown off his acting chops in Peter Pan, Cinderella and Snow White.

He appeared on ITV's This Morning and admitted dishing out nearly £9,000 on his first two surgeries. Chatting with then-hosts Eamonn Holmes and Ruth Langsford, he couldn't hide his elation at the changes, telling the pair: "I'm so happy. It's difficult. I still get hundreds of men messaging me about it."
"I felt like an old man with a babyface, I had to wake up and look in the mirror and think I hate my hairline."
He shared that footballer Wayne Rooney had been his inspiration when it came to getting the work done. Additionally, George opened up about being diagnosed with alopecia, attributing the condition to stress, heredity factors, and the strain of performing head spins in his dance routine.

His tattoos also act as a tribute to his interests and career, featuring film reels and theatre masks. One fan gushed over the ink, commenting under the star's video of his tats: "That is sick man." Meanwhile another said: "Feckin awesome pal, love the logo on the cap."
His social media followers have been left gobsmacked by a video flaunting his bold inkings, with one admirer gushing: "Feckin awesome pal, love the logo on the cap."
Britain's Got Talent's new series begins tonight (February 22) at 7pm on ITV1 and ITVX.
