On Monday, Feb. 24, Kate Hudson performed an intimate show in New York City as part of the Soho Sessions concert series, which raises awareness and money for charity.
The performance took place at a loft in downtown Manhattan, where Hudson played for a small group of music lovers and industry insiders, as well as some of her famous family and some friends, including her Running Point costars Drew Tarver and Brenda Song, Song's partner Macaulay Culkin, Gayle King, Richard Kind and Edie Falco.
For the evening, Hudson, 45, was helping raise money for two organizations: Mount Sinai Health Systems and MindUP, her mom Goldie Hawn's mental health nonprofit.

Hawn — who attended with her longtime love Kurt Russell — introduced Hudson at the top of the evening after discussing MindUP's work.
"Twenty-one years ago, I could not bear the idea that children were committing suicide at 10 years old. It put me down. I said, 'What are we going to do about it?' Even though I wasn't a psychologist or any form of a doctor ... but I decided to create a program, and that was for giving them support for their mental health," Hawn, 79, said of the program, which has helped more than 7 million youth worldwide. "And with that, MindUP is really based in neuroscience; it teaches children about their brain and also gives them tools to be able to self-regulate their emotions, as well as understand what's going on in their brain at that time."

Following her mom's intro, Hudson hit the stage to play a slew of tracks from her 2024 debut album Glorious, including "Live Forever," an emotional ballad inspired by her son Ryder Robinson, 21, who sat in the audience with his younger brother, Bingham Bellamy, 13. Elsewhere in the setlist, Hudson played her original song "Love Ain't Easy," which she wrote and recorded with her fiancé, musician Danny Fujikawa, 38, whom she gave a shout-out in the audience.
In addition to her original material, Hudson also played some eclectic covers, including the Miley Cyrus single "Used to Be Young" and Bob Dylan's "Don't Think Twice, It's All Right."
The Soho Sessions are produced by Greg Williamson and Nicole Rechter and have become a coveted experience in N.Y.C. nightlife over the past two years, thanks to shows by Paul Simon, Gary Clark Jr., YOLA and others. So far, the concert series has raised more than $60 million for various charities.

Before Hudson released her debut album Glorious in May 2024, she opened up to PEOPLE about why music has always been a longtime dream.
“Music was my first love. It’s really a lifetime in the making," Hudson told PEOPLE in a cover story. “I became really sort of successful young. So going and making a record or pursuing music took a very far back seat to what was happening in my career at the time, but I never lost sight of what I love.”
At the time, she added: “I’m just happy singing. I really am, even if it’s to a room of 20 people — I’m very happy there.”
