Fun-loving Alison Hammond loves a party - but opening up in an exclusive chat with OK!, the star has revealed that she has got no big star-studded bash planned for her upcoming 50th on 5 February, a birthday she also shares with her son Aiden, 19, a budding DJ.
The telly favourite, who is sharing the screen with Aidan in his TV debut as they hit the road for BBC travel show Florida Unpacked, which sees them try everything from salsa in Miami to paragliding in the Florida Keys, admits she's just not wanting to go large this year.

I had the big bash when I turned 48 – and Aidan turned 18 – and yes, it was wonderful. But it took a lot of talking and an awful lot of preparation. I’m not in the mood this year! I just want to chill out."
While she may not be planning to get on her glad rags and paint the town red with a host of famous friends, Birmingham-born Alison's approaching birthday has definitely got the TV presenter in reflective form, over how time flies.
She admits: ""What’s incredible is how quickly the time goes. I’d urge people to enjoy their lives, spend time with loved ones and be present. Nowadays, I only want to do what makes me happy.” Equally, when Alison speaks about her son, she can’t believe how time has flown, as she recalls fondly how as a little boy, he would often get involved in fashion segments on This Morning.

I’ve achieved everything I wanted to, really – maybe hosting Comic Relief one day would be good… But honestly? I’m happy with where I am in life.”
If she does opt for a low-key affair - perhaps with boyfriend David Pullman, 29, it will be a far cry from the joint bash the star had with Aiden in February 2023. That star-studded bash, which included a fireworks display, two birthday cakes and live performances, saw the likes of Carol Vorderman and Holly Willoughby, Dermot O'Lear and Vanessa Feltz partying the night away to celebrate the birthday boy and girl.
Posting a video to Instagram from inside the party, Alison revealed that none other than Gok Wan was behind the decks, as towards the end of the clip she said ,"Hi everyone, woo, we're having a lovely party" .
"I wish you was all here, that's why I've gone live on Instagram. I've had some birthday cake, I've had some food, I'm drinking water and I've had a lovely time. I hope you've enjoyed joining me, I'm gonna go now and enjoy my party. Love you, bye!"
