Is Julia Fox Wearing Her Hair IN Her Dress?
It's giving "Birth of Venus"—if Venus had a French manicure.
Leave it to Julia Fox to continually come up with creative ways to make nudity fashion (pronounced as exaggeratedly as possible). We've seen a lot of Fox—in a lot of ways—but even when she shows up on a red carpet showing more of herself than we can show you here, she always incorporates a beauty element that deserves a ton of exposure. The most recent example: her look at the Vanity Fair Oscar After Party.
If you pay even the slightest bit of attention to art then you're familiar with Botticelli's The Birth of Venus, the 15th-century painting depicting the goddess Venus standing naked on a giant shell, her long, blonde hair blowing in the wind and also covering a key area of her body. This Renaissance masterpiece is clearly the inspiration for Fox's ensemble, and the execution is both accurate and interesting.
The actor and all-around-visible person wore a completely see-through, barely beige Dilara Findikoglu dress. The mesh fabric didn't cover as much as her extremely long, brown hair—a departure from the famous painting—which was stuffed into the dress and very deliberately situated for a wee bit of modesty. (Like the painting, Fox's breasts were exposed, but she sometimes used her hands to cover them in photos.)

Also a departure from Botticelli's vision: Fox's makeup and nails. She wore pale, peachy-nude shades of lipstick, blush, and eye shadow, along with fluttery lashes and bleached brows.

And while I've never zoomed in on The Birth of Venus, I'm pretty sure she wasn't wearing a long, squared-off French manicure. But that doesn't mean Fox's doesn't look fabulous.
