Former Little Mix star Jade paid a sweet tribute to her 'sisters'
Jade Thirlwall paid tribute to her Little Mix 'sisters' as she won her first solo BRIT award. The 32-year-old singer spoke of her love for her former bandmates as she collected the Brit Award for best pop act.
The singer beat the competition which included Charli XCX, Dua Lipa, Lola Young and Myles Smith â and appeared to struggle to get up the stairs to collect the award.

The artist, who goes by Jade, came close to tumbling on the stairs as she struggled to lift huge dress and climb the steps to the winners podium.
In a touching speech, where the singer was clearly surprised to win, Thirlwall said: âFirstly, I need to thank the fans because thatâs why I won this award. Thank you so much for supporting me and relentlessly forcing everyone around you to âvote Jadeâ. I love you guys so much. Iâm so grateful.â
She thanked her âfabulous teamâ and family and friends before praising her former bandmates. She added: âAll my family and friends who always believed in me, thank you for making me feel like it was a realistic goal to be a pop star ever since I was a little girl.

âAnd finally, my Little Mix sisters. I love you so much. I wouldnât have this award without you, and you changed my life.â
Fans were touched by the sweet nod to Little Mix. One fan wrote on X, formerly known as Twitter, "Just cried to Jade shouting out Little Mix for her first Brit award that's my family."

The BRIT Awards 2025 marks the 45th edition of the ceremony, celebrating the best in British and international music for 2024.
Comedian and TV presenter Jack Whitehall returns to host the event for the fifth time, after first taking the reigns in 2018. In a statement by the Brit Awards, Jack shared: âThey say that absence makes the heart grow fonder, and that is absolutely the case with The BRIT Awards - it is my favourite night of the year, and I am delighted to be invited back to host in 2025.â

English singer Charli XCX was up for the most BRIT awards, being nominated for five different awards, including the highly coveted British Album of the Year award for her hit album Brat. Charli XCX has won Songwriter of the Year, following the album's massive success since its release in June 2024.
The awards are being broadcast live from The O2 Arena in London, featuring performances from Sabrina Carpenter, Sam Fender, Jade, The Last Dinner Party, Myles Smith, Teddy Swims and Lola Young. On February 23, it was revealed via Shaboozey's Instagram Story that, due to circumstances beyond his control, he will no longer be able to perform at the awards.
The Brits take place just one day before the iconic Academy Awards, celebrating the achievements in film from the past year.
