In light of this morningâs plane crash in Muan, the 2024 MBC Entertainment Awards will no longer be taking place.
On December 29, MBC announced that the award ceremonyâwhich was originally scheduled to be held at 8:30 p.m. KSTâwould not be airing that day.
Instead of the 2024 MBC Entertainment Awards, the network will be airing special news coverage of the plane crash. (MBC also previously announced that âThe King of Mask Singerâ would be taking the night off due to coverage of the crash.)
Meanwhile, KBS has cancelled all of its Sunday variety show broadcasts for today. The shows that will not be airing today include â2 Days & 1 Night Season 4,â âGag Concert,â and âBoss in the Mirror.â

The Recording Industry Association of Japan (RIAJ) has announced its latest batch of official certifications!
This month, SEVENTEENâs latest Japanese single album âShohikigenâ earned an official double platinum certification for over 500,000 units shipped in Japan. According to the RIAJâs certification thresholds, albums are certified gold at 100,000 units shipped and platinum at 250,000.
Stray Kidsâ new Japanese album âGIANT,â TXTâs Korean mini album âThe Star Chapter: SANCTUARY,â ENHYPENâs repackaged album âROMANCE : UNTOLD -daydream-,â and BTSâs Jinâs first solo album âHappyâ were all certified platinum for over 250,000 units shipped each in Japan.
Meanwhile, TWICEâs MISAMOâa unit consisting of Mina, Sana, and Momoâreceived an official gold certification for their second Japanese mini album âHAUTE COUTURE.â
