James Hewitt makes sad Princess Diana comment
Princess Diana's ex-lover, James Hewitt, has weighed in on Prince Harry and William's reported ongoing rift.
During Tuesday's (February 25) episode of ITV's Good Morning Britain, hosts Susanna Reid and Richard Madeley brought the latest headlines to viewers.
Towards the show's end, the presenting duo welcomed former army officer James into the studio to discuss the urgent aid needed in Ukraine after Russia's invasion.
He appeared alongside John Lawler, the founder of Operation SafeDrop - which provides urgent assistance to Ukrainian families.
During the rare TV appearance, James admitted that the late Princess of Wales, who died in a car crash in 1997, would have tried to "do her best" to repair the rift between her sons.

"What about the gulf between her two boys? Any mother would be grief-stricken at the separation you've seen between Harry and Will. Do you think she would have been able to make an [amends] possible?" Richard asked.
"I think that any mother would be worried and concerned about such a rift, as you put it, and she'd do her best to try and get them together," James said.
James last spoke to Diana shortly after her BBC Panorama interview had been broadcast, which resulted in her being more "distant" than usual.

"It did create problems, but I'm trying to move on from that. This is admittedly, you know, personal for me to try and move on and help as best I can," he added.
Prince William and Harry's fallout has been widely publicised following Harry and Meghan Markle's departure from the monarchy in January 2020.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have since made numerous claims against the Royal institution during their Oprah Winfrey interview and in Harry's best-selling memoir Spare.
The California-based couple also addressed why they stepped down from royal duties in their six-part documentary series Harry & Meghan, which landed on Netflix in 2022.
Good Morning Britain airs weekdays on ITV1 and ITVX at 6am
