James Martin assures chef he's 'only joking' as she's left red-faced by mistake
James Martin put his arm around a guest chef as all eyes were on her thanks to an ongoing mishap.
James Martin insisted that he was âonly jokingâ when a chef kept making a âmistakeâ and went red-faced.Â
James Martinâs Saturday Morning continued on Saturday, 15th March, where the titular chef was joined by the likes of fellow cooks Ryan and Liam Simpson-Trotman, Sabrina Gidda, Tony Singh and The Supervet star Noel Fitzpatrick.Â
Each of the guest chefs took it in turns to join James in the kitchen with Sabrina being the last to show off her culinary skills as she cooked up a delicious white veal ragu dish with Tarragon Pangrattato.Â
Throughout her segment though, Sabrina couldnât stop calling James âchefâ which he poked fun at her for.Â
So much so that he started joking that he would charge her every time she referred to him as âchefâ and put it towards a meal at Ryan and Liamâs Orwells Restaurant.
When asked if he should add pasta water to the dish, she replied: âYes please chefâ, with him pointing out âÂŁ70â, much to her annoyance as Sabrina groaned.Â
He teased: âIâve got a starter and a main course so far, by the end of this Iâll get pudding at his restaurant.â
Liam teasingly chipped in: âHe only needs ÂŁ5 more!â, causing the rest of the guests to laugh.Â
Sabrina admitted: âI mean, Iâm having a mare. Iâm going to cut you a deal, if I do it one more time, could we just put the money into the marathon pot?â, as the chef will be running this yearâs London Marathon for Pancreatic Cancer UK.Â
James agreed before focus went back onto cooking the meal and he asked if he should move the pasta from the frying pan and into the bowl.
Much to her own annoyance, she began to say âyes please chefâ once again before stopping herself.Â
James threw his arm up in the air in a victory stance as he joked: âThat was a fiverâs worth werenât it!âÂ
Defending herself, Sabrina said it was a âch-â rather than âchefâ with James teasing: âCould be construed that you meant something else thereâ.Â
Unsure of what to say at this remark, the chef said: âHonestly, I just canât help it.âÂ
Seeing that she was red-faced, James briefly placed a comforting hand on Sabrinaâs arm and reassured her: âIâm only joking.âÂ
The pair finished off the dish but when she did still call him âchefâ, no more jokes were made by James.Â
James Martinâs Saturday Morning continues every Saturday at 10am on ITV and ITVX.
