Jey Uso and Charlotte Flair win big at WWE Royal Rumble 2025
A big surprise in the main event of WWE’s first Premium Live Event of the year
Jey Uso pulled off one of the biggest upsets in WWE history by outlasting 29 other superstars to win the Men’s Royal Rumble match.
A match stacked full of elite level talent including Roman Reigns, CM Punk, Seth “Freakin” Rollins, Jacob Fatu, a returning AJ Styles, Drew McIntyre and so many more, it was Uso who got the win by last eliminating John Cena on what was his final Royal Rumble appearance as an active WWE superstar.
As a result, Jey Uso will live up to the ‘Main Event’ moniker at WrestleMania in Las Vegas come April as he is guaranteed a championship match against the champion of his choosing. It would appear he has set his sights on World Heavyweight Champion Gunther.
The star-studded match will be forever remembered for a number of jaw-dropping moments: Reigns and Rollins renewing their rivalry only to be eliminated by CM Punk who was then thrown over the top rope by Logan Paul thus costing him his dream of headlining WrestleMania.
There was also an appearance from popular streamer IShowSpeed as an emergency replacement for Akira Tozawa in the Royal Rumble match. Speed even managed to get himself an elimination only to be promptly destroyed by Intercontinental champion Bron Breakker.
In the Women’s Royal Rumble match, a returning Charlotte Flair emerged victorious as she last eliminated Roxanne Perez to become a two-time winner. Entering at number 27, it was ‘The Queen’s first appearance on WWE television in a year following a serious knee injury.
The match also included the returns of Alexa Bliss, Hall of Famers Trish Stratus and Nikki Bella, whilst NXT stars Lash Legend, Jaida Parker, Giulia and Stephanie Vaquer made their Royal Rumble debuts. Jordynne Grace is now under contract with WWE and she made quite the impact by lifting Piper Niven on her shoulders before slamming her to the floor.
Flair is now guaranteed a championship opportunity at WrestleMania but will she choose to face Women's World champion Rhea Ripley or WWE Women's champion Tiffany Stratton?
Charlotte Flair is now a two-time WWE Royal Rumble winner!

Next was the WWE Tag Team Championship bout as DIY defeated Motor City Machine Guns in a two-out-of-three falls match. With the score tied at 1-1 and the challengers on top, the Street Profits interfered to cost MCMG and then attacked the champions afterwards.
Cody Rhodes then retained the Undisputed WWE Championship in a ladder match against former friend now turned rival Kevin Owens. The turning point of the bout came when Owens - busted open at this point - attempted a package piledriver, a move that has been outlawed in the WWE, through the announce table but Rhodes reversed it and put the challenger through the ladder with an alabama slam.
That gave the champion enough time to climb the ladder in the ring, grab both titles to emerge as the winner whilst Owens received assistance from the medical staff and close friend Sami Zayn.
