Josie Gibson forced to present This Morning on crutches after 'nightmare' injury
Josie Gibson was forced to present This Morning on crutches after a luxury holiday in Dubai went wrong, with a bathroom cabinet falling on her foot while she was brushing her teeth
This Morning's Josie Gibson turned up to present today's show on crutches after a 'nightmare' injury she suffered while on holiday. The bubbly host hobbled onto the ITV set, one foot in a medical boot, and shared her misfortune of being struck by a falling bathroom cabinet in her Dubai hotel room.
Recounting the ordeal to her co-host Alison Hammond, Josie said, "It was the second day of the holiday, I have always wanted to take my little one to Dubai. I was brushing my teeth when the vanity unit came down on my foot," complete with a picture of the shattered cabinet that landed square on her foot. Alison and the This Morning crew didn't miss a beat in cheering Josie up, as they surprised her with a snazzy mobility scooter decked out in gold trimmings, silver panels, and even a personalised 'Gibson' registration plate.

Earlier in the week, Josie, 40, had teased on social media that she rushed to hospital for an undisclosed ailment, which we now know was likely the foot fiasco.
While she was diagnosed with a fractured foot in Dubai, a British doctor she saw on her return said she had suffered soft tissue damage. She posted a snap featuring signs pointing to the Fracture and Orthopaedic Clinics and a Trauma Assessment Unit, captioning it with a wry: "You couldn't even make it up". The post was set against the backdrop of rock band Mazzy Star's tune Cry Cry, reports the Mirror.
Josie recently jetted off to Dubai for her new travel series, The First Class Travel Show, where she stayed at Anantara at the Palm, complete with personal infinity pools and a private beach. In a chat, she revealed plans to revisit with her six year old son Reggie, saying: "I think he would quite like Dubai because it's geared up for kids."
"I was in a villa on the water with a glass floor, so you can look down at the sea while you're having your breakfast."

The show whisked Josie away to plush hotels in Scandinavia, the Middle East and the Caribbean, but after such an abundance of first-class experiences, she confessed: "I don't want to see another glass of champagne for as long as I live."
She continued: "I know this is going to sound so bad, but there was so much luxury that I just wanted a glass of water," and added, "There was champagne everywhere. I'm one of these people because I didn't grow up with it, I've got to have it. You make the most out of everything. If there are any freebies to take, I am taking them. Any drinks to be had or food to be tried I am trying it all. First World problems, but I am totally champagned out!".
