Jurgen Klopp has promised to make Liverpool return after invites from Arne Slot
Jurgen Klopp has already made his plans clear after Arne Slot's side were denied the chance to parade the Premier League trophy in front of their fans following their 2019/20 triumph
Should Liverpool clinch the Premier League title this term, they're set for a massive celebration with their fans – and Jurgen Klopp will be there too. The iconic German manager guided Liverpool to their first league victory in three decades during the 2019/20 season.
But the Covid-19 pandemic put a damper on festivities, as it paused the season and prevented the traditional victory parade. This left many Liverpool supporters feeling bitter about not being able to properly celebrate the momentous occasion.
Article continues belowHowever, if Arne Slot's squad maintains their lead at the summit of the table, the scene will be vastly different, with a jubilant procession through Liverpool's streets. Klopp himself has confirmed he'll join the throngs of fans to witness his former team lift the Premier League trophy.
The commitment came during the last days of his nine-year spell at Anfield, where he told TNT Sports: "I'm happy, the better the hands are the club will be in for the next years, the better it is for me because I will follow everything and will watch it from wherever in the world.
"If Liverpool can win the league the next year and if I don't disturb, I would be around and watch the [bus] driving through the city," reports the Liverpool Echo.
He confirmed his intentions earlier this year, as Liverpool looked set to lead the Premier League. "Yes, the plan is [to be there for the celebrations] but not on the bus," he declared at a charity event in Cape Town.
"I will be there where the people are. That's the idea, but we will see." He also shared his commitment to attend Liverpool's final match of the season against Crystal Palace at Anfield, confessing his absence from the famous stadium was due to superstition. "I will be there for the last game," he said.
"I didn't want to go earlier to be honest because I didn't want to jinx it! They win all the time and I'm the first time in the stadium and they lose! So, I'll go there when it's decided."
Klopp had received invites to fixtures against Manchester City and Real Madrid from Slot, who emphasised that the German legend will always have a place at the club.
"I wouldn't mind him (Klopp) coming. I invited him, I think, to the (Manchester) City and Real (Madrid) games, but he told me he has a job and is somewhere else in the world," Slot said. "He can be here every single time he wants to come - either to the training ground or the games. He is more than welcome.
"But at this moment he had a job to do and in the first half of the season he had a job to do with his wife, enjoying life. For me, he is always welcome."
