KSI actually stands for 'Knowledge Strength Integrity'. According to talkSport, the media personality has the three words tattooed across his arms and chest, while the word 'knowledge, is stretched over his torso. He adopted the nickname, which came from his original gaming alias on YouTube - KSIOajideBT, which is an amalgamation of the acronym, his real surname and his broadband provider.
The 31-year-old was born in London but raised in Watford in Hertfordshire. His real name is Olajide Olayinka Williams Olatunji. While appearing on BBC Sport alongside boxer Anthony Joshua, KSI spoke about being brought up in a Nigerian household.
He said: "It was hard but I feel like, looking back now, it's done me a world of good because it's just helped me become so disciplined in everything I do. It was super strict, hardly any fun time at all. All the fun time I could have was just indoors. That's why I gravitated towards the internet."
He continued: "Because of that they were like we need to cut the amount of time you were on that computer and stuff like that. So I had to, essentially with the whole YouTube stuff, prove to my parents that I can make this a career or I can make you guys proud. Yeah and I feel like I have done that now."
The star found his fame through YouTube, playing the popular football video game FIFA. Since then, he has ventured into the music world, with his latest album - All Over The Place, debuting at number one in the UK Album Charts in 2021. KSI has also participated in a few boxing matches. In his most recent match, he lost to Love Island star and boxer Tommy Fury.
Britain's Got Talent returns for its 18th series at 7pm on Saturday, February 22 on ITV and ITVX.
