Kanye West‘s X account has been deactivated after the controversial rapper spent several days posting racist and antisemitic comments, from declaring “I’m a Nazi” to calling Hitler “so fresh.” West’s posts were widely condemned by anti-hate organizations such as the Anti-Defamation League and the American Jewish Committee. Amid West’s antisemitic rants, celebrities such as David Schwimmer called on X owner Elon Musk to remove the rapper from the social media platform.

It is unclear at this time whether West voluntarily deactivated his X account or if he was removed by force from the social media platform. His profile page now reads: “This account doesn’t exist.” In addition to racist remarks, West also spent the last several days on X defending Sean “Diddy” Combs and bragging that he had dominion over his wife, Bianca Censori.

“We can’t stop a deranged bigot from spewing hate filled, ignorant bile… but we CAN stop giving him a megaphone, Mr. Musk,” Schwimmer wrote on Instagram before West’s account was deactivated. “Kanye West has 32.7 million followers on your platform, X. That’s twice as many people than the number of Jews in existence. His sick hate speech results in REAL LIFE violence against Jews.”

Popular on Variety

At one doing during his tweet storm, West wrote that “he loves when Jewish people come to me and say they can’t work with me.” He also stated that he is “never apologizing for my Jewish comments.”

This was not the first time West had posted antisemitic rants on X. The rapper was restricted on the social media platform in 2022 after a post in which declared that he wanted to go “death con 3 on Jewish people.” The 2022 rant led to widespread backlash and resulted in Adidas terminating its collaboration with West.

In a statement condemning West’s posts, Anti-Defamation League CEO Jonathan A. Greenblatt wrote: “Here we go again. Another egregious display of antisemitism, racism and misogyny from Ye on his X account this morning. Just a few years ago, ADL found that 30 antisemitic incidents nationwide were tied to Kanye’s 2022 antisemitic rants. We condemn this dangerous behavior and need to call it what it is: a flagrant and unequivocal display of hate.”

“We know this game all too well,” Greenblatt continued. “Let’s call Ye’s hate-filled public rant for what it really is: a sad attempt for attention that uses Jews as a scapegoat. But unfortunately, it does get attention because Kanye has a far-reaching platform on which to spread his antisemitism and hate. Words matter. And as we’ve seen too many times before, hateful rhetoric can prompt real-world consequences.”
