Kanye West's paid for £6.5m Super Bowl ad to sell Swastika t-shirts
The controversial rap artist posted the ad after a series of rants in which he declared: â??Iâ??m a Naziâ? and that he is a big fan of Adolf Hitler.
Kanye West forked out £6.5 million to post a Super Bowl ad for people to buy white t-shirts with a Nazi swastika.
The controversial rap artist posted the ad after a series of rants in which he declared: âIâm a Naziâ and that he is a big fan of Adolf Hitler.
The 30-second ad directed people to his website where he had just one item available for sale.
Despite the offensive nature of the swastika t-shirt, which he offered for $20, fans of Kanye bought up 100,000 of the t-shirts netting the music and sneaker mogul $2 million.
Kanye says he shot the ad, which shocked a lot of viewers, on his iPhone.
Fox News claimed they did not know the nature of the ad when they approved it, having been aware only that it promoted his website.
Kanye West - Nazi t-shirtWhen they checked the website content there was âjust normal Yeezy athletic and athleisure gearâ only for the offerings to be reduced to just one item when the ad aired on Sunday.
Our sources say Ye bought the spot -- which cost him $8 million -- through a third-party advertising agency. It's unclear when he made the purchase or when he shot it, but we're told it's commonly the agency's job to vet the clients it's pitching to networks.
Kanyeâs anti-semitic and misogynistic rants on X went too far when he started posting porn, leading Elon Musk to censor him.
His X account has now been deactivated but he has continued to post on Instagram.
Kanye West - Nazi tweet.American singer-songwriter and producer Charlie Puth condemned Kanyeâs Super Bowl ad.
"I beg you to stop," Puth wrote on social media, describing the messaging as âincredibly dangerous.â
âPlease man, I beg you to stop,â Puth wrote on an Instagram Story.
âMILLIONS of people are influenced by you,â Puth continued. âPlease I BEG you to stop, PLEASE.â
The Anti-Defamation League also issued a response to Westâs stunt on Monday.
âAs if we needed further proof of Kanyeâs antisemitism, he chose to put a single item for sale on his website â a T-shirt emblazoned with a swastika,â their statement read.
âThe swastika is the symbol adopted by Hitler as the primary emblem of the Nazis. It galvanised his followers in the 20th century and continues to threaten and instil fear in those targeted by antisemitism and white supremacy.
âIf that wasnât enough, the T-shirt is labeled on Kanyeâs website as â HH-01,â which is code for âHeil Hitler.â
âKanye was tweeting vile antisemitism nonstop since last week. Thereâs no excuse for this kind of behaviour. Even worse, Kanye advertised his website during the Super Bowl, amplifying it beyond his already massive social media audience.â
The Super Bowl ad appeared to be a local buy and did not air nationally, instead covering three US States. It was reportedly âpaid for by Yeezy LLCâ and aired again on Fox later Sunday, around two hours after the game ended.
The back and forth comes within days of Westâs controversial appearance at the 2025 Grammy Awards, where he arrived with his wife, Bianca Censori, who unveiled a black coat to reveal a sheer dress with no underwear.
Top showbiz newsWest later defended his wifeâs outfit. Though reports later surfaced of Censori asking for help on social media, the modelâs rep denied those claims.
