Kate Middleton âwouldnât want to missâ the BAFTA awards, sources say: The Princess of Wales may make her first red-carpet appearance since her cancer diagnosis at the star-studded event
Insiders have hinted that The Princess of Wales could attend the BAFTAs, marking her â??big showiz returnâ?? since she has been in recovery
With the organisation's close ties to both William and Kate, insiders said they are 'pulling out all the stops to try to secure Kate's presence at this year's awards.' Speaking to MailOnline, sources said, âAnything Bafta can do to work around Kate Middleton, it will do.â The insider added, 'We have been told that she wouldn't want to miss it, so she's hoping to be there with William.'
The couple have only attended once in the last few years, despite the awards often being a highlight in their royal calendar. The then Duke and Duchess of Cambridge did not appear in 2022 due to âdiary constraintsâ, while their attendance in 2021 was cancelled after the death of Williamâs grandfather, Prince Philip.

The Princess of Wales has had some of her most memorable fashion moments at the BAFTAs, always in Alexander McQueen â a fashion tradition she has once again honoured at the 2023 iteration. She re-wore a beloved custom-made white and gold dress at the event in 2020 (in keeping with the ârecycle, sustainable or vintageâ dress code); previously donned this yearâs one-shouldered white gown in 2019; and a black floral, off-the-shoulder dress in 2017.
It comes as sources revealed the Princess of Wales won't be returning to full-time royal duties any time soon. Insiders told MailOnline's Rebecca English the children will remain her focus moving into 2025 - saying that the Princess 'simply won't be going back to work in the same way as before' her diagnosis. They continued, 'I think she would also prefer to confirm only when she is certain she can attend events, rather than get anyone's hopes up and then have to pull out.'
