Kate Middleton's go-to snack includes anti-ageing food that costs 53p
The future Queen has previously shared her love for healthy superfoods, with one great for the skin and lowering cholesterol
Royal family enthusiasts have often wondered what Kate Middleton eats in a day, as she's known for making healthy choices. The Princess of Wales has previously spoken about her love of nutrient-dense superfoods.
Kate, who is now in remission from cancer, recently made a heartfelt return to the hospital where she received treatment, offering comfort to current patients. A recent article for HELLO Magazine revealed the future Queen's food preferences, showing one of the mother-of-three's go-to snacks.
It's reported that she opts for healthier alternatives like raw fruits over processed sweets, with goji berries being a particular favourite. Originating from China, this fruit can be enjoyed in various forms - raw, dried, or cooked. Some people choose to incorporate this powerful superfood into smoothies alongside other nutritious fruits and vegetables.
A packet of dried goji berries can be bought from Asda for just £1.50. The 100g pack contains three servings, which works out at roughly 53p per 33g portion.
If you're on a January health kick and are looking for a change from the usual supermarket fruit selection, these tasty berries could be worth a try. Known for their distinctive sweet and sour flavour, goji berries contain vitamins, minerals, antioxidants, and amino acids.

Goji berries are believed to be beneficial in slowing down signs of ageing and supporting eye health, with a 2021 study suggesting that their regular consumption might reduce the risk of age-related macular degeneration in middle-aged individuals.
These antioxidant-rich superfoods can shield skin cells from age-linked damage, which could also improve skin appearance. Healthline says that goji berries are also abundant in iron, essential for transporting oxygen and producing red blood cells.
Goji berries have also been associated with lower cholesterol levels and enhanced heart health. An expert quoted in a BBC Good Food article said: "Long term consumption of goji berries has been shown to decrease LDL cholesterol and help in the prevention of cardiovascular disease."

Research cited in the article indicates that polysaccharides present in goji berries may help control blood pressure and reduce bad cholesterol, offering some defence against heart problems. However, some people need to be cautious when snacking on these red berries.
There can be potential interactions with blood-thinning and diabetic medications and eating too many goji berries may lead to digestive upset or allergic reactions. Additionally, being a dried fruit, goji berries contain sugar, so those with blood sugar issues should be careful not to overindulge.
