Keke Palmer threw it back to 2003 at the Oscars 2025 after-party as she stepped out in a Swarovski crystal-embedded Y2K gown that was previously worn by another iconic pop star. As she made an appearance at the 2025 Vanity Fair Oscars party on Sunday, March 2, the multi-hyphenate put her six pack on full display while rewearing an iconic fishnet dress that Christina Aguilera famously donned in 2003.
The mesh naked dressâwhich featured a strategically-placed white fabric panel on the sheer fishnet bodice and a matching flowing skirtâhas gone down in MTV fashion history after Xtina turned heads at the 2003 MTV Europe Music Awards in the barely-there number. The sleeveless archival dressâa design from Versaceâs Spring 2004 collectionâshowed off Palmerâs body and side tattoo with the belly button-baring mesh, a plunging back, and a low-slung skirt with subtle ruffles. As the Nope actress posed on the VF red carpet, she showed off thigh-high slits in the layered tulle fabric.

While Aguilera paired the crystal bedazzled dress with a bright red lip, matching blush, and ultra-skinny brows, Palmer and her stylist Molly Dickson put their own twist on the vintage dress. The multi-hyphenate pulled her auburn hair back into a sleek, elegant ballerina bun, and accentuated her features with a classic smoky eye, a glossy nude lip, and sculpted cheeks. Dangling crystal chandelier earringsâa more pared-down version of Aguileraâs 2003 chandelier sparklersâas well as rhinestone-studded sandal heels and cocktail rings finished off Palmerâs post-Oscars look.

It appears that Palmer worked directly with Versace to source the look, as the âBossyâ singer took to Instagram to share her Oscars after-party look while thanking the brand for âmaking sure my dress fit perfectly.â She also tagged makeup artist Kenya Alexis and hairstylist Ashanti Lation, crediting them for her Oscars beauty transformation.
