Kevin Costner goes viral for response to Ryan Reynolds' joke at Justin Baldoni
Kevin Costner's less-than-impressed reaction to Ryan Reynolds' SNL50 joke about the legal battle between Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni has made him go viral online
Hollywood star Kevin Costner has became an internet sensation after his response to Ryan Reynolds' SNL50 joke. Deadpool star Ryan, 48, was part of the star-studded audience alongside his wife Blake Lively, 37, at Sunday's SNL50: The Anniversary Special to mark 50 years of Saturday Night Live.
He took part in a skit with hosts Tina Fey and Amy Poehler as he stood up from his seat and said: "I have a question." The pair responded: "Oh Ryan Reynolds, how's it going?"
Taking a comedic aim at the on-going legal battle he and his wife are facing against Justin Baldoni, Ryan joked with a dead pan look: "Great - why, what have you heard?" The audience was quick to laugh at his comment before he quickly moved on.
However, the reaction by Yellowstone star Kevin Costner, 70, who was sitting just behind the couple had viewers in hysterics, Mirror UK reports.
The Oscar winner seemed to grimace at the casual handling of the serious allegations, which include claims of sexual harassment and smear campaigns. And social media users were quick to pick up on the moment and make their feelings be known.
Kevin Costner and Ryan Reynolds
One said: "No mercy for Ryan Reynolds from Kevin Costner at #SNL50." A second agreed adding: "Did I see Kevin Costner sitting next to here [sic]? He didnāt look too impressed when Ryan Reynolds made his s*** joke."
Blake and Justin are currently locked in a bitter legal row over the movie adaption of hit novel, It Ends With Us. Last year, Blake filed a lawsuit against her co-star who she accused of sexual harassment which caused "severe emotional distress." She also alleges that her co-star, 41, had attempted to "destroy" her reputation in what she has called a smear campaign.
Justin continues to strongly deny all of the allegations. He has since countersued Blake and her husband, Ryan, for Ā£321 million ($400m) citing an apparent attempt to destroy his reputation and career.
The saga has seen It Ends With Us author Colleen Hoover remove all traces of both Blake and Justin from Instagram. Justin had alleged Blake used her A-list star power to try to get the author to side with her. When she first filed the lawsuit, Colleen shared a statement in support of her. However, she has been noticeably absent from her Instagram since December. According to Justin's lawsuit, which can be found on a website with his latest court filings, the author previously had a better relationship with him and told him: "You are the right person to make this movie."
