On March 17, Kim Sae-ronâs family filed a criminal complaint against YouTuber Lee Jin-ho at the Seoul Metropolitan Police Department and held a press conference. Attorney Boo Ji-seok stated that the family chose him for his experience in exposing YouTube cartels and suggested that Lee Jin-ho might have influential backers.
The legal team denied claims by Kim Soo-hyun and his agency, Gold Medalist, that they helped Kim Sae-ron return to acting and paid off her 700 million won debt, calling these allegations false.
Kim Se-ui, head of Garo Sero Research Institute, revealed that Gold Medalist managers frequently contacted Lee Jin-ho. He also questioned how Lee Jin-ho knew about Kim Sae-ronâs part-time job during her hiatus, implying an informant.
Kim Se-ui defended Kim Sae-ron, stating, âShe never did anything shameful. If she wasnât deeply frustrated, why would she record the exact start and end dates of her relationship in her diary?â
Attorney Boo Ji-seok claimed that Kim Soo-hyun used Telegram instead of KakaoTalk to communicate with Kim Sae-ron, possibly to avoid leaving evidence. He also noted that her final messages included pleas for help, suggesting their breakup was not due to a major conflict.

The lawyer further revealed that after Kim Sae-ron posted a photo with Kim Soo-hyun, Gold Medalist pressured her to delete it. The next day, she received a debt collection notice, followed by a series of Lee Jin-hoâs YouTube videos targeting her.
Kim Sae-ron passed away on March 16 at age 25, after suffering severe online harassment despite apologizing and compensating victims of her 2022 DUI accident.
