West End star and TikTok sensation Kaine Ruddach was left overwhelmed and close to tears when he finally met one of his idols - Kimberley Walsh - after being a childhood fan of Girls Aloud.
Kaine, 26, who has starred in West End shows including Peter Pan, Mamma Mia, and Heathers The Musical, has been enamoured by the Popstars: The Rivals girl group for as long as he can remember, with his most memorable concert being Girls Aloud at the age of six after his dad took him to see their iconic track Sound of The Underground performed live.
The social media sensation, who is in a relationship with Gogglebox star, Joe Baggs, has admitted that Girls Aloud are incredibly important to him because they were part of his 'gay awakening' as a young child.
Speaking about meeting one of his heroes, Kaine exclusively told The Mirror: "I met and interviewed Kimberley Walsh at the National Lottery Big Night at the Musicals and that was so special to me because she was such an icon to me growing up. She was the first concert I ever saw and I was asked to keep it light about musicals, and then at the end I went into full fangirl mode.
Kaine's dreams came true when he met Kimberley
The TikTok star interviewed the Girls Aloud star after being a fan since he was six-years-old
"I told her about it and explained that when I was about six and on my dad's shoulders, and I was so excited I couldn’t sleep that night and all my dad could hear from my bedroom was Sound of Underground. So I explained all of this to her and said ‘you were my gay awakening’ and she hugged me and I thought, 'you know what, life is complete I can die happy'.
"Then she followed me and slid into my DMs to say ‘lovely to meet you’ which was life goals. I don’t think I have ever spoken to anyone who hasn’t lived up to expectations, I have been very lucky."
TikTok and West End star Kaine, who often creates videos with his boyfriend Joe Baggs, also shared some insight into their relationship as he admitted that the pair have a very different approach to work when it comes to their budding careers on social media.
"We have very different attitudes – we operate very differently, he is like a workhorse, like a machine. Not that I’m not, but he is so go-go-go whereas I can sit back and think a bit first, whereas Joe is a doer. So actually it works so well because we balance each other out," Kaine shared before detailing what it's like to be a fly on the wall inside the Baggs' family home - and it sounds just as chaotic as it looked on Gogglebox.

Kaine is a popular TikTok star and West End performer
"The whole Baggs family operate such a high frequency, and I am definitely the voice of reason in the family now. I am very much the one that they ask ‘what do you think about this Kaine’. I am definitely the calm one in the family, I think that’s why everyone likes them so much because they are all so bonkers in the best way. It’s incredible witnessing it first hand, you get whiplash at Sunday dinner table cos your constantly trying to keep up with what's going on, especially Lisa after she has had a few Proseccos," Kaine quipped.
When asked if he and Joe would ever do another reality show together, after Joe's success on Gogglebox, Kaine shared his interest in joining Claudia Winkleman on The Traitors. "I think I would definitely be a Faithful and Joe would be a Traitor. I would be so stressed if I was a Traitor, Joe is always saying ‘why are these people crying’ and I say – that would literally be me.
"And if we weren’t together and then could get together, I think we would be on Love Island we are both completely obsessed with Love Island. If we split up and Joe was in the villa I would 100% go in as a bombshell too, a’la Harriet. I would walk in with my extensions in, and I would show him what’s what."
Opening up about finding fame, Kaine told us that he is now living the life that his younger self had always dreamed of, and he often has to pinch himself that the daily life he is living now is real. "I had a little cry on the train the other day because I am literally living the dream.
"This is all of ever dreamt about in terms of being able to meet all these exciting people and do all of these exciting things – like premieres! Who gets to go a Premiere? I am just some young Gay from Sheffield, like how am I able to get to a premiere of a Hollywood film in Leicester Square. Little Kaine would have dreamt of doing those big stardom things and I don’t think that novelty will ever wear off to be honest."
