King Charles will travel to Poland later this month to mark the 80th anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz-Birkenau, the former German Nazi concentration camp.
The monarch will attend a commemoration service at the Auschwitz-Birkenau Museum and Memorial in Poland on January 27, Buckingham Palace confirmed on Monday.
Prior to the commemorations, the King will meet members of the local community in Krakow.
He will also meet the President of the Republic of Poland, Mr Andrzej Duda.
The visit will be The Kingâs fifth to Poland; more recent visits include in 2008 with Her Majesty The Queen when The Duchess of Cornwall, and in 2010 as part of a wider European tour to Hungary and the Czech Republic.
The announcement comes as the King prepares to host a Holocaust memorial and education event at Buckingham Palace today.
