The King will host a dinner for Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer, along with the leaders of Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland in Windsor on Wednesday night, GB News can exclusively reveal.

The People's Channel understands the leaders of all the devolved nations of the UK will be travelling to Windsor Castle to have a late dinner with the King tomorrow night.

The evening is set to be dubbed a "sleepover" as some of the devolved leaders will be staying overnight in Windsor Castle and treated to a royal breakfast the following morning.

The event will be seen as the King acting as a unifying figure to bring together the UK's political leaders.

It will be the King's second intervention in politics this week after hosting Starmer and his deputy Angela Rayner at a housing development in Cornwall on Monday.

The meet up came at the start of a week when ministers were unveiling a series of new homes announcements.

The King occasionally brings people together by hosting dinners at Windsor Castle bringing people together.

However, GB News understands the latest meet up was seen as a useful opportunity to get the political leaders of the three devolved nations together alongside the Prime Minister.

It is understood that Northern Irish First Minister Michelle O'Neill and Northern Irish Deputy First Minister Emma Little-Pengelly will be attending alongside Scottish First Minister John Swinney.

Starmer is unlikely to stay the night but the other three leaders are thought to have been invited to stay over if they want.

It was not clear which of the devolved leaders will be staying over.

And it is not yet known if Welsh First Minister Eluned Morgan is attending.

However, supporters of Sinn Fein, historically the political wing of the Irish Republican Army, might raise eyebrows about seeing O'Neill having dinner and then breakfast with the King.

In the past decade, Sinn Féin's tone and approach towards the British monarchy has transformed beyond all recognition, notably with O'Neill leading tributes to Queen Elizabeth II after her death in 2022.

Despite certain corners of the SNP also voicing support for republicanism, Swinney made a staunch defence of maintaining the monarchy even if Scotland achieves independence.

Buckingham Palace declined to comment.
