Coupang Play’s upcoming drama “Newtopia” has dropped new stills ahead of the premiere!
“Newtopia” tells the story of Jae Yoon (Park Jung Min), who is serving in the military, and his girlfriend Young Joo (BLACKPINK’s Jisoo) as they race through a zombie-infested Seoul to find each other.
The newly released stills from episode 1 introduce Jae Yoon, stationed at a high-rise building while serving in the military, and his girlfriend Young Joo. Constantly thinking about her, Jae Yoon becomes increasingly anxious as Young Joo has been difficult to reach since starting her new job. Enlisting later in life, he faces the challenges of military service, relying on his junior, Private Ra In Ho (Im Seong Jae), to get by.
Young Joo looks uneasy as she sits across from Seo Jin Wook (Kang Young Seok), a senior from both college and work. This raises concerns about potential issues in her relationship with Jae Yoon.
Meanwhile, the surprised facial expressions of Jae Yoon and In Ho hint that something unexpected is about to happen, heightening anticipation for what is to come.
In stills from episode 2, Jae Yoon and his group begin their journey to escape a high-rise tower overrun by zombies, ramping up the tension. Surrounded by zombies, Jae Yoon teams up with In Ho and Aaron Park (Kim Jun Han), the hotel’s general manager, to fight their way through using the tower’s various terrains and obstacles.
Young Joo’s worried facial expression as she struggles to contact Jae Yoon raises questions about whether they will reunite in a world ravaged by zombies. The series blends striking visuals with humor and romance, building excitement among viewers.
