Kylie Jenner was Absent for Boyfriend’s SAG Win, but Someone Special was There
Timothée Chalamet made waves at the SAG Awards 2025, showcasing his individuality and a special guest. Learn the details.
After two years of Kylie Jenner’s unwavering support for Timothée Chalamet at awards ceremonies, her absence at the 2025 SAG Awards was surprising. This unexpected change in the event’s dynamic piqued the curiosity of many. However, her nonattendance meant the presence of someone else who is extremely dear to the actor — his mother.
Timothée Chalamet walked the red carpet alone, as usual. His mother, Nicole Flender, joined him inside, E News! reported. He stood out from many other nominees with a black leather suit over a lime green shirt and bolo tie, while his mother wore a simple, form-fitting black gown. When Lily Gladstone and Michelle Yeoh called his name as the winner of Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Leading Role for his work as Bob Dylan in “A Complete Unknown,” the surprised actor stopped to give his mom a long hug.
He began his speech by thanking his mother before admitting he “wanted to be one of the greats” and acknowledging how much the SAG award meant to him. He also made history by becoming the youngest actor to win the SAG Best Actor award. Variety reports that Nicholas Cage was the previous winner when he won at 32 for “Leaving Las Vegas.”

The public has grown accustomed to seeing ‘It’ couple Jenner and Chalamet together at awards shows, but before she entered his life, his usual date was his mother. The last event Flender accompanied her son to was the “Bones and All” premiere at the 2022 BFI London Film Festival. Before that, People reported that she’d attended many of his film premieres, the 2018 Academy Awards, and the 2019 Golden Globes.
While there are many reasons why Kylie Jenner skipped the SAG Awards, her absence was particularly notable given her frequent appearances at such events. Many have speculated that the devastating death of her friend and hairstylist, Jesus Guerrero, likely had much to do with it. Jenner has yet to comment, but her sister, Kim Kardashian, posted a photo of her and Guerrero on her Instagram Stories and a heartfelt tribute, captured by the Daily Mail.
“Our glam fam means the world to us,” Kim wrote. “We work together, vacation, and celebrate our lives together! Our great respect for the art of hair and makeup has led us to meeting some of the kindest souls and made some of our best friends. So when one of our glam family members passes away, all of our souls are crushed. My heart breaks for Kylie and everyone who loved Jesus the way we all did.”
