Lady Gaga has unveiled details of her forthcoming album, Mayhem, set for release on March 7th.
Before Gaga officially announced the new record, billboards appeared earlier today in New York and Las Vegas, revealing the album title and release date. A full tracklist for Mayhem has yet to be released but will arrive as March 7th approaches.
Gaga has previously shared ‘Disease’ and the chart-topping Bruno Mars collaboration ‘Die With A Smile’ from Mayhem, with the music video for the upcoming third single set to air during a commercial break at the Grammy Awards on February 2nd.
At the Grammys, Gaga is nominated in the ‘Song of the Year’ and ‘Best Pop Duo/Group Performance’ categories for ‘Die With A Smile‘. If she is to win ‘Song of the Year’, Gaga will need to beat strong competition from Beyoncé, Billie Eilish, Kendrick Lamar and Chappell Roan.
Meanwhile, she’ll face off against Charli XCX and Billie Eilish, Gracie Abrams and Taylor Swift as well as Beyoncé with Post Malone for ‘Best Pop Duo/Group Performance’.
In a statement, Gaga explained of Mayhem: “The album started as me facing my fear of returning to the pop music my earliest fans loved.”
Additionally, Gaga described the creative process as “reassembling a shattered mirror: even if you can’t put the pieces back together perfectly, you can create something beautiful and whole in its own new way.”
For the record, Gaga has executively produced the body of work alongside Michael Polansky and Andrew Watt. Meanwhile, producers include Gaga, Andrew Watt, Cirkut, and Gesaffelstein.
Later this week, ahead of the premiere of her new single at the Grammys, Gaga will perform at FireAid in Los Angeles on January 30th. The concert, which also features Stevie Nicks, Joni Mitchell, Olivia Rodrigo, and Billie Eilish, is a fundraising effort for the communities affected by the devastating recent fires in Los Angeles.
