Lady Gaga sent a message to President Donald Trump at the Grammy Awards as she stood in solidarity to the transgender community in America.
The Oscar-winning singer and actress, 38, said "trans people deserve love" as she won best pop duo/group performance with Bruno Mars at the star-studded event in Los Angeles on Sunday night.
The US superstarâs support of the LGBTQ+ community comes after the new Trump administration issued executive orders rolling back transgender rights. Trump has already issued executive orders that ban diversity, equity and inclusion in the government and recently federal government websites have erased pages with references to the trans community.
Accepting the award for her collaboration with Bruno Mars on Die With A Smile, Lady Gaga said: "It is a privilege to be a songwriter and a producer, a musician, such an honour to sing for all of you. And I just want to say tonight that trans people are not invisible. Trans people deserve love. The queer community deserves to be lifted up. Music is love. Thank you."

She also praised Bruno as an "incredible human being" and a "musician for the ages", while he said he was "honoured to have a small part in your giant musical legacy". Earlier in the evening, Lady Gaga told her fans to âget ready to danceâ ahead of the release of her seventh studio album Mayhem.
Speaking about her new album on the red carpet, the 38-year-old, whose real name is Stefani Germanotta, said: "Iâm so excited, my record comes out on March 7. I love my fans so much, little monsters (her nickname for her fans) I love you. I worked really hard on this record, I spent a lot of time in the studio, like honing in on all the sounds, writing song after song, and just making something that I feel truly proud of, and get ready to dance.â
Paying tribute to those impacted by the Los Angeles wildfires and looking ahead to her performance with Bruno Mars, the singer added: "I just love the world, I love people so much. To be a songwriter and a singer, and to be able to sing for people during this time, and just send as much love as I can into the world.
"I feel so heavy in my heart for people that lost everything, for people that didnât make it through. So Iâm just thinking of everyone tonight Bruno and I have something special planned, so Iâm excited to be here, and so happy to be just feeling blessed."
