Lainey Wilson Engaged To Former NFL Quarterback
Lainey Wilson shared news of her engagement Wednesday evening in a series of sweet pictures with her new fiancé.
Lainey Wilson said yes!
In a series of photos she posted on social media Wednesday, Wilson revealed her longtime boyfriend – former professional football player Devlin “Duck” Hodges proposed.
Judging by the gigantic diamond on her ring finger and the smile on her face, Wilson said yes.
Wilson shared her long-expected news Wednesday evening, showing off the planning Hodges put into the moment. The photos show roses strewn around, framed pictures of the couple, and white candles atop an outdoor staircase that leads into a lavish home. Snapshots from the moment show the couple kissing, Wilson covering her face, displaying her new ring, Hodges grinning broadly, and Wilson holding her hand up, showing the world her new ring.
“4x4xU forever ❤️,” she captioned the pictures.
Wilson’s friend and fellow country singer Caylee Hammack commented: “YES YES YES YES???????????????????? I’ll get you a sling for that arm for your wedding gift, you might hurt it with that big ole honker????”

Wilson hasn’t been shy when talking about wanting to get married – or how long she’s been waiting on a proposal. She joked with Jelly Roll’s wife, Bunnie XO, that if Hodges didn’t propose soon, she might propose to him.
“We waiting!” Wilson laughed.
Then, when she dressed in white for the Grammy Awards, Hodges couldn’t help but comment.
“Gosh dang ❤️????,” he wrote. “This is what you look like in white?!”
Mutual friends introduced the couple in Nashville years ago when Wilson’s career was still taking off, and Hodges still played for the Pittsburgh Steelers. While little is known about how long the couple has been together, Hodges left the Pittsburgh Steelers in 2020 and football in 2022. Hodges and Wilson officially unveiled their relationship on the 2023 ACM Awards red carpet.
Wilson told Zane Lowe that she’d finally found someone in Hodges who gives her “a run for my money.” She also called him her “biggest cheerleader” and “just a good person.”
“He knows how important chasing down a dream is because even when he was a little boy, football was his life,” she said.
Her engagement isn’t Wilson’s only huge news recently. She revealed her first headlining arena tour at the end of January. The singer’s Whirlwind World Tour starts in early March in Switzerland. She’ll spend two weeks gigging around Europe before hitting pause on live shows until May, when she launches her Whirlwind stateside in Florida.
Tour support includes ERNEST, Muscadine Bloodline, Kaitlin Butts, Maddox Batson, Drake Milligan, Lauren Watkins, and Zach Meadows.
“I can’t wait to bring the #WhirlwindWorldTour to your cities ????️,” she wrote on Instagram.Tickets and more information on Wilson’s sweeping tour are available here.
