Lee Se Young And Na In Woo Recognize Each Other Amid A Busy Crowd In New Drama “Motel California”
MBC’s “Motel California” has dropped new stills ahead of tonight's premiere!
Based on Shim Yoon Seo’s 2019 novel “Home, Bitter Home,” “Motel California” is a romance drama about a woman named Ji Gang Hui (Lee Se Young), who was born and raised in a rural motel called Motel California. After escaping her hometown, she returns home after 12 years and winds up reconnecting with her first love and childhood friend Cheon Yeon Su (Na In Woo).
The newly released stills capture the first reunion in more than a decade between Gang Hui and Yeon Su set in the heart of the city. In the drama, the two part ways on the first day of their 20s when Gang Hui leaves her hometown of Hana Village.
While Gang Hui has become a mature career woman in her 30s living in Seoul, Yeon Su seems frozen in time, still resembling the bear-like Yeon Su from their farewell at the age of 20. This stark contrast between the two raises questions about the fate-like circumstances that brought them face-to-face in the middle of Seoul.
Gang Hui, upon spotting Yeon Su among a crowd of people, appears slightly startled but subtly reveals a sense of longing. Meanwhile, Yeon Su gazes unwaveringly at Gang Hui with eyes that seem to focus solely on her. Anticipation is high for how their 23-year-long first love story will unfold in the first broadcast.
“Motel California” premieres on January 10 at 9:50 p.m. KST and be available on Viki. Stay tuned!
