According to broadcasting officials on January 24, Lee Yi-dam has been cast in the new drama “Asura Balbalta.” This confirms her upcoming projects, including “Asura Balbalta,” following her role in Netflix’s new series “Love In Translation.”
“Asura Balbalta” tells the story of three comedians chasing their dreams and a woman whose life has fallen apart, who comes together with them to find hope again. The drama is set to begin filming this year, directed by Jeong Ji-hyun, known for “Dear Hyeri.” Studio Dragon is producing, and the release platform and date are yet to be determined.
Lee Yi-dam has been making a strong impression with her role in the ongoing tvN X TVING original drama “The Queen Who Crowns.” In “The Queen Who Crowns,” she plays the role of Chae-ryung, a servant to Wongyeong (played by Cha Joo-young), bringing a sense of unpredictability to her character, which has helped fuel the drama’s popularity.
Having debuted in 2017, Lee Yi-dam has showcased her potential with fresh looks and strong acting in dramas like “Artificial City” and “Black Knight.” She also gained attention for her role as Min Deul-re in “Daily Dose of Sunshine,” where she was nominated for the Newcomer Award at the 60th Baeksang Arts Awards.
