Line of Duty star breaks silence on show's return as he issues four-word message
Line of Duty star Nigel Boyle was on BBC Breakfast on Wednesday morning to chat about his new show High Hoops, but presenters Jon Kay and Sally Nugent couldn't resist asking about the future of Line of Duty.
Nigel Boyle, known for his role in Line of Duty, appeared on BBC Breakfast on Wednesday to discuss his new role in the CBBC comedy High Hoops, which premiered this week.
The show, featuring talents like Robert Webb and Isy Suttie, centres around a high school basketball player's tumultuous journey towards success, fame, and love.

As the interview ended, presenters Jon Kay and Sally Nugent eagerly inquired about any updates regarding the return of Line of Duty.
Jon probed: "Nigel, before you go, compulsory question. Line of Duty?" To which Nigel responded with a tease: "What about it?".
Sally pressed further: "Is it coming back, Nigel?" The actor remained enigmatic with his answer, reports the Express.
He stated: "I can neither confirm nor deny. But I have heard that we are thinking about possible plot lines. But, it's for a future- it's a long way off, I think. Nothing is going to happen anytime soon."
Jon interpreted this as a hopeful sign, remarking: "That sounds like it is confirmed to me!" Sally concurred: "That's not a no."
However, Nigel countered: "Well, it's not a yes either! I just heard they were talking about it, but you know."
Fans of Line of Duty will recall Nigel's portrayal of Detective Superintendent Ian Buckells, a character he has starred as since 2012.
Yet, when the BBC series concluded in 2021, his character experienced an unexpected twist.
In a shocking turn of events, the DS was revealed as 'H' or 'the fourth man', leading to his arrest for involvement with the criminal group.
Jon probed Nigel further during their conversation about the potential return of Line of Duty, asking if fans should allow themselves a glimmer of hope.
Nigel responded: "I don't know, honestly. My character is in prison anyway, so that never ends well. I haven't heard anything concrete."
Sally chimed in at this point, hinting that his character could play a crucial role in future plot developments.
Nigel isn't the only cast member from the BBC series who has faced recent questioning about its continuation. Actor Martin Compston appeared on Lorraine earlier this month, where the Scottish host asked him about a possible return.
He commented: "I mean, I hope so at some point. One of the great things about the success of that show is it's given us all a big career outside of it.
"I'm sure we'll get to it at some point. It's a sad day when people stop asking."

Greenock-born Compston was also asked the same question, to which he responded: "I hope so at some point, look, one of the great things about the success of that show is that it gave us all a big career outside of it."
He added: "I was with Ged last week, he was in Vegas, I just started my new show Red Eye yesterday, so I’m filming in London, Vicky's doing Trigger Point, so we’re all working and there’s nothing coming soon but I'm sure we will get to it at some point.
