The 2025 Grammy Awards are turning up the volume on music’s biggest night.

Trevor Noah returns to the Grammy Awards stage on Sunday, February 2, hosting the ceremony for the fifth year in a row. New voices such as Chappell Roan and Teddy Swims provide stiff competition for Grammys favorites — including Taylor Swift and Billie Eilish — at the 67th annual awards show.

Nominations were announced in November 2024, with BeyoncĂ© receiving more nods than any other artist. She has a chance to win 11 trophies thanks to the success of her hit album Cowboy Carter, including Album of the Year and Song of the Year. Beyoncé’s 2025 nominations brought her already impressive career total to a whopping 99, smashing the record she previously shared with her husband, Jay-Z. (The couple were tied at 88 nominations each before the 2025 Grammys.)

Swift is also expected to have a big night following the release of her 11th album, The Tortured Poets Department. She was recognized in a total of six categories and became the first woman to be nominated for Album of the Year seven times.

During a performance in Canada last fall, Swift thanked her fans for supporting her latest record. “It’s really emotional for me because this album — I wrote it during the Eras Tour,” she said after the Grammy nominations were announced. “I wrote the album, made the album — all trying to keep it a secret from you guys
You kept that album at No. 1 for nearly four months and most recently what you did — because everything that happens is a direct reflection of the passion you show — is you guys got this album nominated for six Grammys!”

Swift gushed that the support “truly [blew] my mind,” adding, “It’s so wonderful, so thank you.”

Grammy disses have taken many forms over the years, but in the 21st century, much of the commentary has focused on the awards show’s history of excluding women and Black artists from the major categories.
