Man City lineup vs PSG predicted amid injury uncertainty and key decision
Manchester City resume their Champions League campaign with a trip to PSG tonight
Manchester City travel to PSG on Wednesday evening looking for a vital win in the Champions League.
The two sides began the week in 22nd and 25th in the League Phase with just two games remaining and defeat would leave the very real possibility of one of the pre-competition favourites not making it through to the knockout stages.
City will be missing four players in Paris although there was some panic at the open training session on Tuesday that the injury situation could have been worse.
Every eligible defender - or midfielder who could play at the back - was missing from the first 15 minutes of training which is open to broadcasters and journalists. There were 10 absences in total but City delivered some good news when they confirmed every defender who played at Ipswich was fit and well and they were joined on the flight to Paris by John Stones who has returned from injury
New signings Abdukodir Khusanov and Vitor Reis are unable to play with new signings not allowed to be added to European squads until after the league phase has concluded.
The trip to Paris is a crucial one for both side's chances of progressing into the knockout stages and Guardiola is likely to retain many of the starters from the thumping weekend win over Ipswich Town in the Premier League.
Ederson will start in goal while Rico Lewis could well earn a recall at right back given Matheus Nunes is not a natural defender and PSG possess a plethora of attacking talent.
With Nathan Ake having missed the weekend win, Manuel Akanji, the returning Ruben Dias and Josko Gvardiol would complete the first choice back four.
Mateo Kovacic impressed in Suffolk and his shielding nous will be required on a tricky European away night. Bernardo Silva was rested for Ipswich and seems likely to come back into the side with Ilkay Gundogan missing out.
In form duo Phil Foden and Kevin De Bruyne deserve to keep their places, with Savinho replacing Jeremy Doku who has not travelled to Paris. Erling Haaland will lead the line.
Predicted City XI vs PSG: Ederson, Lewis, Dias, Akanji, Gvardiol; Kovacic, Gundogan, De Bruyne, Foden, Savinho, Haaland
