The will be Kevin De Bruyne's final Manchester derby, with the Belgian announcing he will leave Pep Guardiola's side at the end of the season. The last meeting between City and United saw Ruben Amorim's side win 2-1 at the Etihad, with Bruno Fernandes and Amad Diallo getting on the scoresheet late on.So, who will come out on top in the Manchester derby this weekend? We used EA FC 25 to get a score prediction.
To complete this simulation, we used EA FC 25 and updated the squads with the latest injuries and suspensions.
We predict that United could set up in a 3-4-2-1 formation, with their line-up as follows: Onana; Mazraoui, Maguire, Yoro; Dalot, Ugarte, Fernandes, Dorgu; Zirkzee, Garnacho; Hojlund.
We predict that City could line up in a 4-3-3 formation, with their starting XI as follows: Ederson; Lewis, Khusanov, Dias, Gvardiol; Gonzalez, Silva, Foden; Savinho, Marmoush, Grealish.
A quiet but fiery first half unfolded at Old Trafford, with neither side creating any major chances as seven bookings were handed out. The quality of football improved massively in the second half though, and not long after the restart it was United who took the lead.
A bursting run down the right from Diogo Dalot wasn't tracked by City, with Joshua Zirkzee slipping a pass into the path of the defender as he entered the box unmarked. Dalot took the ball in his stride, and from a narrow-angle, arrowed his strike into the far corner of the net to put United ahead.
City were missing Erling Haaland's presence in attack, with Omar Marmoush struggling to cause any problems for the United defence. But, with 74 minutes on the clock, the Egyptian was the provider as City drew level.
Marmoush picked up the ball around 40 yards from goal, and some neat footwork saw the striker hold onto possession as he charged towards the United box with teammates in support. A smart pass through the legs of Harry Maguire played Bernardo Silva through on goal, and an early strike caught out Andre Onana as the midfielder found the corner.
In the third minute of added time, United almost won the game when Harry Maguire met a corner at the back post, but his looping effort could only rattle the post as the points were shared.
