A large area of Westminster has been locked down this morning as a man climbs Big Ben barefoot - and was reportedly heard saying "I'm not going anywhere."
The man was pictured climbing the almost 100 metre long tower at a height while carrying a Palestinian flag.
A witness posted a video to X showing a number of emergency service vehicles parked outside the Palace of Westminster in central London. They wrote: "Good morning from Westminster Bridge where just before 8am a barefoot man with a Palestine flag climbed up part of the Elizabeth Tower. The road is closed."
