Meanwhile, according to Chris Wheeler of the Daily Mail, a section of the squad is beginning to question Amorim’s methods, as the team continues to struggle in the Premier League.
United currently sit in 15th place, having suffered 12 defeats this season – their worst record at this stage since their infamous relegation campaign in 1973/74.
Despite better form in cup competitions, with upcoming fixtures in the FA Cup and Europa League, injuries to key players like Lisandro Martinez and Amad Diallo have further dented their chances.
While United have won five games in 2025, the performances have reportedly not been convincing.
Many of those victories have required individual moments of brilliance, particularly from Amad, rather than a dominant tactical display.
Some players had previously suggested that Amorim tweak his 3-4-3 system to address the team’s struggles.
However, the Portuguese coach remains committed to his philosophy, which earned him the job in the first place.
