Mandy Moore is calling out Amazon after a delivery driver dropped off a package at her in-laws’ home, despite the residence being completely destroyed in the devastating Eaton Fire.
The Eaton Fire, which burned for 36 days, scorched more than 14,000 acres, killed 17 people, and destroyed nearly 10,000 structures. Among those lost was the home of Moore’s in-laws, one of many properties Amazon has continued to deliver to despite the destruction.
Mandy Moore's comments come around the same time that social media has been flooded with delivery confirmation photos showing Amazon packages left at fire-ravaged properties.

Mandy Moore Slams Amazon For Delivering Package To In-Laws’ Burned-Down HomeThe "This Is Us" actress took to Instagram Stories on Tuesday, sharing a photo of the package sitting among the charred debris of the leveled property in Altadena, California.
"Do better, Amazon. Can we not have better discretion than to leave a package at a residence that no longer exists? This is my mother and father-in-law’s home. Smh," Moore wrote, expressing disbelief at the company's actions.
On Wednesday, Amazon spokesperson Steve Kelly confirmed that the company had reached out to Moore in an effort to address the situation.

"We’ve reached out to Ms. Moore via Instagram to apologize for this and to ask for more information from her in-laws so we're better able investigate what happened here," Kelly said in a statement to PEOPLE. "For weeks, we’ve advised those who are delivering on our behalf in southern California to use discretion in areas that were impacted by wildfires, especially if it involves delivering to a damaged home. That clearly didn’t happen here."

Mandy Moore Reflects On The Fire’s ImpactIn a lengthy Instagram post, Moore recounted the chaotic night of January 7, when she and her family had to flee as the wind-driven fire rapidly approached. "I never got an evacuation notice," she shared, explaining that she was only alerted when her brother-in-law called at 6:45 p.m., urging them to leave immediately.
"I calmly walked downstairs and relayed this to my husband, and without skipping a beat, we promptly packed up the kids (in their pjs), our dog, and scrambled to find our three cats as the power went out."
She recalled the harrowing escape through 60 mph winds, with her husband, Taylor Goldsmith, struggling to manually open the garage doors while ash rained down from the glowing red sky.

“We raced across town amidst fallen trees on the freeway to the safety of our dear friend’s place, got the kids down, and then I raced to Target to grab a litter box and some water, impulsively refreshing the watch duty app over and over," she said. "As we did all night. Over and over. Watching the evacuation zone narrow in on our little 8-block radius. It took until 4 a.m. for it to turn red. All the while, tossing and turning with a stomach-churning anxiety I’ve never experienced before.”

Mandy Faces Backlash Over GoFundMe Campaign For Family’s Wildfire RecoveryShortly after the wildfires broke out, Mandy Moore found herself at the center of a heated online debate after sharing a GoFundMe campaign to support her brother-in-law’s family, who lost their home in the devastating California wildfires.
The backlash quickly escalated on social media, with some branding her plea as “tone-deaf” and accusing her of being out of touch with the financial struggles of everyday people.
Mandy Stands Firm Amid BacklashDespite the controversy, Moore has stood firm in her decision to share the campaign, urging people to focus on supporting those in need rather than questioning her financial contributions.
"Yesterday, my brother-in-law and sister-in-law Griff & Kit lost their home and everything they own in the Eaton Fire," she wrote on social media at the time. "With their first baby on the way in a matter of weeks, they need our support now more than ever. Griff is a touring musician and also lost his entire arsenal of drums/percussion he uses to make a living. It’s all so much. So many have asked how to help during this unimaginable and stressful time… Please consider donating and sharing to help them rebuild."

Mandy Moore Addresses The HateShe then responded directly to those questioning why she was asking for donations when she and her husband, Taylor Goldsmith, are financially well-off.
"People questioning whether we’re helping out our own family or attributing some arbitrary amount of money Google says someone has is NOT helpful or empathetic," she wrote.
Moore made it clear that she and her husband were already financially contributing to their family’s recovery, but that the GoFundMe was started by a friend who wanted to help.
"Of course we are," she added. "Our buddy Matt started this GoFundMe and I’m sharing because people have asked how they can help them. We just lost most of our life in a fire too. Kindly F OFF. No one is forcing you to do anything."
