Marco Asensio has made his Aston Villa intentions crystal clear

Marco Asensio has made it clear that he has arrived at Aston Villa with ambitions to clinch silverware before the season it out. Spaniard Asensio, a serial winner throughout his career at Real Madrid and Paris Saint Germain, joined Villa from the latter in the January transfer window.
Keen for a new challenge in a new country and having dropped onto the fringes of the PSG side, Asensio secured a loan move to Villa until the end of the season and has made an impact already; the playmaker netted two second half goals to seal a remarkable turnaround against Chelsea on Saturday and secure a 2-1 win.
Asensio, 29, isn't thinking beyond what the end of this season holds for his playing career, but having joined a club who are, even in late February, fighting on three fronts still under Unai Emery, he is eager to help the club secure silverware of some form for the first time since 1996.

"I wanted to try to experience life outside Spain," he told Sky Sports. "I have already won everything at club level with Real Madrid. In Paris, I also had the opportunity to win titles. This is a new goal, an ambitious project with a coach who wants to win.
"He has that mentality and the players have it too so I am really looking forward to what is left of this season because I believe there are lots of important challenges ahead for Aston Villa and we can feel that the support of the fans is there to help us achieve it.
"It is incredible how they support us and encourage us. If you put that all together, the club, coach, players and fans, we believe that we can aspire towards achieving the maximum this year in the Premier League, the Champions League and the FA Cup."
