Mark Wright says he's 'nervous' as he prepares to welcome first child with wife
Mark Wright shared a sweet update on BBC's The One Show about the upcoming birth of his first child with wife Michelle Keegan
Mark Wright has joyfully shared an update on expecting his first child with actress wife Michelle Keegan.
The 38-year-old former TOWIE star joined BBC's The One Show to discuss his brand-new DIY makeover show with hosts Roman Kemp and Lauren Laverne.
However, the conversation quickly turned personal when Lauren took a moment to congratulate Mark, saying: "We've got to say congratulations because since we last saw you, you and your wife Michelle Keegan have announced that you're expecting a baby. Your first child together, so it's all go on the home front."
A delighted Mark responded: "Thank you very much. Very exciting times ahead, a little bit nerve-wracking but I'm ready. I'm excited!"
During the chat, Angela Rippon inquired about who would decorate the nursery, prompting fellow guests Simone Ashley and Sindhu Vee to humorously offer their decorating services.
Mark and Michelle's relationship began after meeting backstage at The X Factor and connected through various celebrity events, leading to their marriage in 2015.
Recently, the couple experienced a distressing incident when they reportedly had to shelter in a locked bedroom during a burglary at their home last week.
In a shocking home invasion, four masked intruders forced their way into a house around 6:20 p.m on Tuesday, February 18, sending the occupants into a panic. Essex Police have confirmed that they were on the scene in Ongar within eight minutes of the alarm being raised.
Former Towie star Mark Wright reportedly heard the shattering of a patio window and immediately whisked his wife Michelle, 37, to safety in a locked bedroom while waiting for help. The burglars, who were wearing balaclavas and dark clothing, are believed to have fled empty-handed after Mark's shouts were heard.
Reports suggest that the couple's state-of-the-art security system played a crucial role in alerting the authorities, ensuring a swift response. An Essex Police spokesperson has stated: "We are continuing to support and safeguard the victims and are conducting high-visibility patrols in the area."
They added, "We are exploring a number of lines of inquiry including but not limited to forensic opportunities, CCTV and witness statements. Anyone with information should contact us as soon as possible."
The One Show airs weekdays at 7pm on BBC One.
