Mark Wright talks about expecting his first child with wife Michelle Keegan
Mark Wright has shared his excitement about becoming a dad for the first time in a rare update on his wife Michelle Keegan's pregnancy.
The former TOWIE star opened up about his feelings on Friday night's The One Show, where he was promoting his new BBC DIY show with Tommy Walsh, Clean It, Fix It.
Hosts Lauren Laverne and Roman Kemp congratulated him, with Lauren saying: "We've got to say congratulations, because since we last saw you, you and your wife Michelle [Keegan] have announced you're expecting a baby. Your first child together, so it's all go on the home front."
Mark replied: "Thank you very much. Very exciting times ahead. Little bit nerve wracking but I'm ready, I'm excited."
When asked if he would be decorating the nursery, Mark joked: "I'll let you guys do it."
His wife, former Coronation Street actress Michelle Keegan, 37, and Mark, 38, tied the knot in a grand ceremony in May 2015. Now, ten years later, they are starting a family as their careers continue to flourish, the Mirror reports.
They announced their happy news just after Christmas on Instagram, writing: "2025 is going to be a special one for us... [baby emoji. love heart emoji]."
In the accompanying photo taken on a scenic beach, Michelle can be seen cradling her baby bump while Mark looks on adoringly.
Recently, a couple was left in utter shock after having to barricade themselves in their bedroom when their Essex mansion became the target of a break-in by masked intruders.
The terrifying incident unfolded as they heard the sound of their porch window being shattered, followed swiftly by the activation of their home's alarm system at their opulent residence earlier this month.
The couple's security measures promptly alerted the authorities, but despite this, they were reportedly left "very shaken up" following the ordeal.
