Martine McCutcheon, the 48 year old actress known for her roles in Love Actually and EastEnders, has made a heartfelt return to social media following her unexpected split from husband Jack McManus. The couple, who were together for 18 years, parted ways over the summer, with Martine hinting that she was not the one who initiated the separation. In a statement, she emphasized that their 10 year old son Rafferty remains their top priority and that she respects Jack's decision. After a brief hiatus from social media, Martine has now re-emerged with a sincere message for her followers. "Hello everybody."
"It has been a long time since I've been on here but I wanted to say that your messages of love and support last year were just so amazing for me I can't tell you. So thank you so much," she began, speaking directly to the camera. She went on to explain that she's been taking time to heal, focus on her next chapter, and prioritize her son's well-being. Martine also addressed her decision to take a break from social media, stating, "Also I took a break from here as well, because you know what it's like. I'm really proud of me and Jack because we have managed to put Rafferty first no matter what. Also we want to live our lives being friends after being together for 18 years. So any posts I put up or anything I share, it's not a slight on him. I wouldn't do that. It's not my style."
Martine took to her Instagram to make the statement"If I want to say something I'll say it. I was wary of that as well. But I'm all good, and I'm back", reports the Mirror.
Martine recently got candid about her unforeseen split from husband Jack last August, revealing that the aftermath has seen her social circle shrink and certain pals seemingly vanishing or taking sides. The news that emerged left Martine feeling a tad "blah" regarding her social engagements, despite a good friend's efforts to perk her up, resulting in a fun night out where they closed down a local bar.
However, the uplift was short-lived as Martine confessed some friends have lost touch or chosen sides in the wake of her divorce, which was a tough pill to swallow for her. Sharing with her followers in November, she lamented: "Mutual 'friends' have gone silent, or have clearly picked a side, when they were never, even asked to!"

She emphasised their continued commitment to co-parenting their son: "We both of course, still cherish and look forward to being parents together to our wonderful boy for the rest of our lives. Whilst this decision has evolved over a period of time, we are still finding our new way forward as a family and kindly ask for some privacy at this time... Especially for our little boy."
