Pete Wicks, the former TOWIE star, made a grand entrance at the BRIT Awards tonight alongside another Love Island celeb. This comes after he managed to dodge an awkward encounter with his ex, Maura Higgins. Maura turned heads as she arrived at the venue in a stunning see-through dress adorned with floral motifs. Pete later graced the red carpet himself, posing for snaps with his pal Olivia Atwood, who looked fabulous in a black gown with a lengthy train detail that she had to adjust while making her way down the carpet.

It's been said that Maura wasn't too pleased about Pete and Olivia's close friendship, especially since they were planning to launch a new podcast together. However, a source clarified: "As far as Maura's concerned she doesn't have any issues with Olivia and will always make an effort to say hello if they ever are at the same parties or red carpet events. They added: "Any time there's been a suggestion of a feud or competitiveness it has always baffled Maura. They are on their own journeys and not involved in each other's careers, but she of course hopes the respect she feels for Olivia is mutual."

Last month, it was revealed that Pete and Maura called it quits on Valentine's Day following a few disagreements.

A source spilled the beans, saying, "Maura and Pete have decided to call off their romance. There have been a few clashes, and it was eventually agreed they were better off as friends. Those closest to them know it's been a very on and off relationship, which is why they were so resistant to go public in the first place. They remain close and share a deep connection.", reports the Mirror.

While she was facing the challenges of the I'm A Celebrity jungle last year, Maura played coy about her love life. When quizzed if she was single, she admitted: "I am, but I was seeing someone before I came in. I'm not in a relationship."

Even when probed about being in love, she kept things intriguingly vague, noting it was "different" and questioning, "but then, is it because we've known each other for a long time?" Meanwhile, Pete hasn't been shy about his feelings either.

On Paul C Brunson's podcast, he confided: "Maura and I have known each other for a long time, I say a long time about six years. We have the same sense of humour, she is super intelligent, and that's something people don't realise about Maura. She is incredibly witty, and we have always been there for each other for kind of the past six years at a distance where we have always been friends. We have always kind of been there for each other and whatever else."
