The lifestyle show will now arrive to streaming in early March
Meghan Markle‘s forthcoming Netflix series, With Love, Meghan, has been delayed out of concern for the destructive fires sweeping through Southern California. The series was set to premiere on Jan. 15, but has been pushed back to March 4.
“I’m thankful to my partners at Netflix for supporting me in delaying the launch, as we focus on the needs of those impacted by the wildfires in my home state of California,” Markle said in a statement, via Variety.
Markle and her husband Prince Harry, who currently live in Santa Barbara, visited the Pasadena Convention Center last week to help with fire recovery efforts. The couple also shared resources on their official website, including José Andrés’ World Central Kitchen, which has been a longtime partner of their own Archewell Foundation. “If a friend, loved one, or pet has to evacuate and you are able to offer them a safe haven in your home, please do,” the royals noted.
With Love, Meghan has been described by Netflix as a show that “reimagines the genre of lifestyle programming, blending practical how-to’s and candid conversation with friends, new and old.” It will feature appearances from actresses like Mindy Kaling and Markle’s Suits co-star Abigail Spencer, chefs like Roy Choi and Alice Waters, and, of course, Prince Harry.
“I’ve always loved taking something pretty ordinary and elevating it,” Markle says in the trailer, which finds the Duchess of Sussex ruling over the kitchen. “Surprising people with moments that let them know I was really thinking of them.”
The announcement of the series came shortly after Markle’s surprise return to Instagram, which has so far seen her share three posts. Although Markle’s relationship with social media has been tenuous following her marriage to Prince Harry and their departure from the British royal family, she has apparently been planning her social media comeback for a few years.
