Meghan Markle Joked About Her 'Suits' Character's Style at the Invictus Games
Meghan Markle made a hilarious reference to her 'Suits' character while joking with athletes the the 2025 Invictus Games.
Meghan Markle showed up to the 2025 Invictus Games with a few jokes up her sleeve. While in Canada for the annual sporting event, the Duchess of Sussex and her husband, Prince Harry, surprised Team USA at breakfast on Saturday, February 8, and during a chat with a few of the female athletes, Markle made a hilarious reference to her Suits character, Rachel Zane.Â
"We told her we saw her on Suits," Leandra Moehring told People about her interaction with Meghan, who starred on the hit show from 2011 to 2017. "And she's like, 'I'm sorry I'm not wearing a pencil skirt.'" Of course, Markle was referring to Zane's go-to office uniform of a form-fitting pencil skirt, a button-down shirt, and heels.Â

Instead, Meghan wore an all-white look that consisted of an oversized sleeveless turtleneck sweater with matching wide-leg pants and suede pointed-toe pumps in a chocolate brown color. She accessorized minimally and wore her long dark hair down in relaxed waves with a middle part.Â
Moehring offered another example of how down-to-earth Meghan and Harry were at the event. "They really took the time with each and every one of us. And despite people who are trying to keep them on schedule, they just did not mind taking pictures at all. And it was just super neat," she said. "I loved them."

Meanwhile, another athlete, Bryce Ewingâwho is set to compete in snowboarding, swimming, and seated volleyballâechoed a similar sentiment about the couple. "When Meghan looks at you, she really looks at you, and you feel it in your soul," Ewing shared. "She's really caring. She's very intuitive. She's so down to earth, and she looks like she really cares."
She continued, "They would just notice little things about us," she says. "I think one of our friends had a picture of her mom and dad in the back of her phone case, and she was walking away, and [Meghan] was like, 'Oh, I really like that picture.' They just noticed everything, and they were just so happy to be there."

The Duchess of Sussex also showed off her silly side at the opening ceremony, where she was spotted waving blue pompoms in the air. And the next day, she seemed at ease once again, cracking jokes with Harry and taking selfies with fans in the stands.
