For weeks Prince Harry and Meghan Markleâs names have been in the headlines, but not for the reasons they had hoped. Theyâve been dubbed âdisaster touristsâ for surveying areas of Los Angeles County destroyed by the wildfires and slammed for supposedly volunteering at an evacuation center where they showed up for 17 minutes and had a âphoto opâ with Pasadenaâs mayor Victor Gordo. And then came the blistering Vanity Fair âAmerican Hustleâ story.
The publication spoke with people who used to work for Meghan and revealed that she was such an âawful bossâ that some of them âneeded therapyâ after dealing with her. Allegations similar to that were also made in 2024 when members of the âSussex Survivor Clubâ called the duchess a âdictator in high heelsâ and a âdemon bossâ who has âpsycho moments.â
But another claim in the piece is said to have really âdevastatedâ Meghan and now Harry is looking into whether they can sue the magazine for âdamages.â
Of all the allegations in the Vanity Fair cover story the one that has reportedly upset Meghan the most is that someone in her circle was shopping a âdivorce bookâ for when she left Prince Harry. According to the magazine, a person from Meghanâs team allegedly had a conversation with a publishing house to âgauge interestâ in the idea for such a book. However, the article did note that âno offer was ever made, and no manuscript was produced. After all: There was no divorce.â
But Meghan is said to have found that claim âdevastating.â
A source whoâs been in contact with the former Suits star told OK!: âMeghan knows that the rumors always make their fans worry about a split, and she doesnât like that sort of negativity being spread. Meghan was devastated when she saw all of these reports about a âpost-divorceâ book coming out.
âShe knows thereâs no truth to them and itâs just upsetting for her to constantly have this negativity around them. Sheâs getting really sick and tired of all the split rumors. Everywhere she looks and reads there is something about her and Harry breaking up.â

And now Radar Online is reporting that given that and the allegations against his wife, the duke is considering suing the publication.
The insider said: âThis article is disturbing on multiple levels, leaving Meghan feeling utterly humiliated and betrayed. Harry was equally taken aback. It was a relentless attack on their reputations and they are deeply hurt. This situation canât be brushed aside. Vanity Fair carries significant influence and credibility in elite social circles on both sides of the Atlantic, and the breadth of the allegations is alarmingly extensive and harmful.
âHarry has made several phone calls to explore his legal options and to see if he has a claim for damages against the magazine. They are discussing their options.â
