Meghan Markle humiliated as 'insane' Netflix show receives scathing reviews
Meghan Markle's new show has received scathing reviews in the UK media.
Meghan Markle's new Netflix show has received scathing reviews in the British media, with one outlet branding the venture "insane".
The headline of a review by The Guardian reads: âKiss the Netflix deal goodbye! With Love, Meghan is so pointless it might be the Sussexesâ last TV show.â
Stuart Heritage describes it as the third consecutive disappointment from Harry and Meghanâs Netflix output after the dukeâs Polo series and the Heart Of Invictus documentary.
He calls it a show about âa woman filling childrenâs party bags with seeds and manuka honeyâ and âthe sort of gormless lifestyle filler that, had it been made by the BBC, would be used to bulk out episodes of Saturday Kitchenâ.
The Telegraph gives it two stars and says: âIt is, to put it kindly, insaneâ, branding it an âexercise in narcissism, filled with extravagant brunches, celebrity pals and business plugsâ.
The show, With Love, Meghan, launched on the streaming platform at 8am in the UKâmidnight on the West Coast of Americaâafter being delayed from January because of the Los Angeles wildfires.
Episode one called Hello Honey! features Meghanâs friend Daniel Martin as she prepares a âthoughtful guest basketâ.
It began with Meghan harvesting honey from bees as she said: âThe biggest thing is keeping a low tone â talk in our bee voiceâ.
In another episode called âWelcome to the Party,â the Duchess of Sussex is filmed picking fruit in her garden and reveals what encouraged her to begin making her famous jam.
Near the end of the final episode, Meghan raises a toast at her brunch, saying this âfeels like a new chapterâ which is âpart of that creativity that Iâve missed so muchâ.
As Harry arrives, Meghan remarks, âOh, there he isâ, and the pair embrace and kiss each other on the lips.
Meghan later asks Harry as they hug: âItâs good, right?.â The duke replies: âWell done. You did a great job⌠I love it.â
The show is being seen as a make-or-break moment for the Sussexes, who signed a multimillion-pound deal with Netflix in 2020.
